Seaside Stories: Diving Enthusiast from the US

“I am a storyteller of the silent world, ocean. The following is my letter to the underwater kingdom that stole my heart and soul,” Johnathan.

Raised in a small coastal town, the sea's call was always in the background of my childhood, urging me to explore its vast mysteries. At 18, I took my first scuba dive, and it felt like finding my true place in the world. The ocean’s silent world became my classroom, teaching me bravery, respect, and a deep love for its wonders.

My travels took me across the world's oceans, from Maldives to Hawaii and the Philippines. Learning underwater photography, I sought to capture these encounters, each photo a precious story of the ocean’s life.

Beneath the waves, I sometimes wonder if I was part of the ocean in another life. The comfort I find in its depths, the silent conversations with marine life — it all feels like returning home. While some may prefer the solitude of mountains or deserts, it’s the ocean’s mystery that calls to me, a vast world of beauty and life.

The ocean's allure isn’t just for people like me — it's for everyone. Every coast hides wonders, every splash offers a connection with nature. I share my experiences to invite others to explore, protect, and cherish the ocean. Next time you hear the sea call, take a moment to listen and discover the wonders it holds.

Just like ocean waves, small in a big way.

Gentle sea waves may look subtle but are also unstoppable forces pushing onshore. Just like what we are doing here in WAVEIT – help solve the ocean issues by transforming waste into bag designs, helping the nature one bag at a time.
